  • A.M. v. Anstey et al, [2021]

    Case: A.M, a 6-year-old at the time, was struck by a speeding GMC Sierra pickup truck while riding her bike. The accident occurred at an unmarked crosswalk where she was thrown approximately 38 meters, causing severe head injury and fractures to the client. She was unconscious and intubated upon arrival at the hospital, where she underwent surgery for her femur fracture and treatment for brain hemorrhages. She developed Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI), resulting in fluid accumulation in her brain. She remained unconscious for two months, undergoing multiple surgeries and eventually requiring a feeding gastrostomy tube. She was diagnosed with a severe traumatic brain injury with life lasting injuries to her mental capacity and mobility.

    Result: Our client’s case was settled for over 6.1 million dollars for a total of $6,154,923.41.

  • Gill v. Stephens, [2019] B.C.J. No. 908

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Gill was injured in a motor vehicle accident and was in a line of traffic, which was advancing slowly. Apeldoorn was behind him in her vehicle. Gill suffered physical injuries including myofascial pain symptoms arising from spinal sprain/strain injuries including facet mediated pain and post-traumatic headaches. Gill suffered from a major depressive disorder with predominant anxious features. Gill’s life was affected to the greatest extent and resulted in ongoing limitations. Gill had not been able to return to his employment or any other occupation. Gill had suicidal ideation that manifested itself in his attempt to take his own life.

    Result: Our client was awarded over 2.1 million dollars in judgement for a total of $2,133,550.00.

  • Johal v. Johal et al, [2022]

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in two motor vehicle accidents. The client was 64 years old at the time of settlement. The client was unable to return to work since the first accident which affected his relationships, mental health, financial situation, and physical wellbeing. The accidents resulted in injuries to the client’s back, neck, mental health, induced chronic headaches, inability to sleep and more. At the time of the accident, he had been working as a field service specialist for over 33 years and was unable to return.

    Result: Our client’s case was settled for over 1.2 million dollars for a total of $1,290,000.00.

  • Lam v. Sorochan Estate, [2000] A.J. No. 170

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was a physically impaired individual, driving when Sorochan rear-ended his car. Sorochan had passed away by the time of the case. The client’s pre-existing impairments were worsened by the accident, leaving him disabled and unable to work.

    Result: Our client was awarded over one million dollars in total judgement.

  • Bhullar v. Logan, [2021] B.C.J. No. 1217 

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. While driving on Highway 1 in Abbotsford, the left rear quarter panel of his vehicle was struck at high speed with significant force by the other vehicle. Because of the force of the collision, the client rolled over several times and ended up in a roadside ditch. He has suffered several serious and life-altering injuries. Most significantly, he faced a serious TFCC injury to his right wrist, which will require surgery to alleviate pain. However, the surgery will result in a loss of range of motion, costochondral pain, and pain in his rib, chest, and back radiating into his right leg.

    Result: Our client was awarded over nine hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $934,268.35.

  • Johal v. Doe, [2024] BCSC 1597

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. While sleeping in the compartment of a transport truck driven by her husband when the truck veered off the road and rolled onto its left side into a ditch. She suffered several serious and life-altering injuries. She suffered significant injuries from the accident, including a complex fracture in her left wrist requiring surgery, broken toes in her left foot, myofascial injuries to her neck and upper back, a bulging disc with an annular tear at L4-5, and chronic cervicogenic headaches, resulting in ongoing pain, stiffness, and limited mobility. The court found that the accident led to her developing Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Somatic Symptom Disorder (SSD), significantly affecting her quality of life and ability to work full-time as a care aide, though she remains capable of light or sedentary work with necessary breaks.

    Result: Our client was awarded over six hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $645,857.74.

  • Pannu v. Behnke, [2024] B.C.J. No. 376

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in two motor vehicle accidents. Mr. Pannu was 25 years old at the time of the first accident. He was working as an apprentice electrician at Bridge Electric at the time of the first accident. Liability for the first accident was admitted. Liability for the second accident was denied. The accident resulted in back, neck and both shoulders, which he says were caused by the first accident and aggravated by the second accident. The client also had a workplace injury.

    Result: Our client was awarded over five hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $540,274.00.

  • Sidhu v. Alton, [2021] B.C.J. No. 304

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in three motor vehicle accidents. The client was 41 years old at the time of the first accident. The accident resulted in neck, shoulder, and low back pain and pain on the right side of her body. She was also prescribed anti-depressants. The plaintiff was unable to return to work and claimed that when she attempted to work a shift in 2018, the pain in her right hand and shoulder increased, her right hand was swollen, and she was limping.

    Result: Our client was awarded over five hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $513,605.47.

  • Purewal v. Li, [2016] B.C.J. No. 2045

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The plaintiff was struck by the defendant’s vehicle as the defendant made a left-hand turn at an intersection. The plaintiff sustained a head injury and soft tissue injuries to his back and shoulder. He had suffered from ongoing headaches as a result of the mild traumatic brain injury suffered, from ongoing back pain, sleep disturbance and depression since the accident.

    Result: Our client was awarded over four hundred fifty thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $494,263.23.

  • Bahia v. Norton, [2020] B.C.J. No. 1689

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The client was in a T-bone type collision where the vehicle struck a telephone pole after being collided with by the defendant. She suffered soft tissue injuries, pain in her neck, upper back, shoulders and arms, paresthesia in both arms, headaches, aggravation of pre-existing insomnia, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

    Result: Our client was awarded over four hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $406,938.25.

  • Buttar v. Hergott, [2023] B.C.J. No. 2234

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in two motor vehicle accidents. The client was 46 years of age at trial and 40 years of age at the time of the first accident. At the time of the first accident, she was working full time in her husband’s pizza business. Her injuries included Neurocognitive Disorder, memory problems, anxiety disorder, driving-related anxiety, Depressive Disorder, cognitive decline, low energy, fatigue, poor concentration, soft tissue injuries & chronic pain in neck & back, headaches, sleep disturbance, mood issues, vertigo, dizziness; and an aggravation of pre-existing injuries from the second accident.

    Result: Our client was awarded over three hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $346,986.77.

  • Sangha v. Inverter Technologies Ltd. [2019] B.C.J. No. 518 

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The client was 59 years old and was in a rear end type collision. She suffered soft tissue injuries, including neck and shoulder pain and a frozen shoulder that persisted to trial. She had pursued various treatments including cortisone injections, massage therapy, and physiotherapy. She had rotator cuff surgery that delayed her recovery from her frozen shoulder.

    Result: Our client was awarded over two hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $215,380.74.

  • Puri v. Vuong, [2020] B.C.J. No. 35

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in two motor vehicle accidents. The client was 51 years old. Pain in his wrists and back improved but he continued to experience neck and shoulder pain and numbness in his hands. The plaintiff’s primary ongoing difficulty at trial were headaches. The plaintiff had received physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic treatments, and acupuncture for his injuries. He received injections in his neck and shoulders and Botox injections for his headaches.

    Result: Our client was awarded over two hundred fifty thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $278,224.22.

  • Sahota v. Choongh, [2014] B.C.J. No. 3152

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The client was 49 years old at the time of the accident. He was the front seat passenger when rearended by another vehicle. The client had injuries including upper and mid back pain, right shoulder and arm pain, that endured for about six months, and right leg pain that resolved within less than a year. However, he was left with chronic low back and left leg pain.

    Result: Our client was awarded over one hundred fifty thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $172,519.84.

  • Kang v. Sahota, [2021] B.C.J. No. 700

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The client was 25 years old at the time of the accident which was a rear end type collision. The plaintiff had minor post-accident headaches and increased pre-existing anxiety. Neck and back issues improved by 50%, but full recovery is unlikely. He avoided or is restricted from heavy lifting and certain repetitive movements due to these issues.

    Result: Our client was awarded over one hundred fifty thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $156,955.00.

  • Bal v. Makichuk, [2022] B.C.J. No. 1834

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The defendant had been southbound on Griffiths Avenue in a 2001 Honda Civic. As the parties reached the intersection at Edmonds Street, coming from opposite directions, the defendant turned left across the path of Bal’s vehicle, resulting in the accident. The accident caused injuries to his right knee, right ankle, right elbow, right wrist, back, and neck that resulted in pain in those areas, headaches, depression, and anxiety. He continued to suffer from periodic headaches, daily pain in his neck and back, and mood symptoms.

    Result: Our client was awarded over one hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $140,161.98.

  • Pataria v. Bertrand, [2012] B.C.J.No.1298

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The client was 12 years old at the time of a 2007 motor vehicle accident. The other driver had attempted to change lanes and struck the vehicle in which the client was a passenger. The client had injuries to his back, neck, and shoulder, along with headaches and difficulty sleeping.

    Result: Our client was awarded over one hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $124,812.00.

  • Dhillon v. Song, [2016] B.C.J. No. 564

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The client was 35 years old and eight months pregnant at the time of the accident. The plaintiff suffered a blood clot in her brain, requiring an immediate craniotomy. She remained unconscious for several days. An emergency caesarean delivery was performed. The baby was born healthy. She continued to suffer headaches, confusion, memory loss, soft tissue injuries to her neck, shoulders and low back, and right leg swelling and discomfort. She had scarring from the craniotomy and the caesarean delivery.

    Result: Our client was awarded over one hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $118,925.00.

  • Johal v. Radek, [2016] B.C.J. No. 527

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The client was aged 70 years old at trial. She was attempting a right turn when her vehicle was struck on the driver’s side near the rear wheel by the defendants’ pickup truck. The injuries included pain in her neck, thoracic and lumbar spine, shoulders, and head. She also suffered from anxiety. The plaintiff stated that her symptoms persisted to some degree at the time of trial.

    Result: Our client was awarded over one hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $105,496.10.

  • Cheema v. Bains, [2021] B.C.J. No. 1949 

    Case: The client filed a lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The client was injured when the pickup truck he was driving was rear-ended while he was stopped at a red light. The plaintiff suffered soft tissue injuries to his lower back, neck, and shoulders. He later developed radiating pain down his left leg to the back of his knee. At the time of the accident, the plaintiff was working as a yard runner at a lumberyard and helping out in the family trucking business. His long-term plan was to work as a long-haul truck driver in the family business.

    Result: Our client was awarded over one hundred thousand dollars in judgement for a total of $102,062.86.
